The Gordon Heights Fire District current operating budget is almost $1.5 million dollars.

The highest being $2,719.00.  If this home were right across the street in the Middle Island Fire District, the fire taxes would be about $900.00.

This discrepancy is too large to be ignored. There are a number of Gordon Heights residents who are paying well over $2,000,00 just for their fire taxes.  This has caused an unnecessary financial burden to the hardworking and retired residents residing in the Gordon Heights Fire District.

The majority of the residents feel that the high fire tax rate is an economic injustice and an unnecessary financial burden.

We must consider the economic wellness of the residents being impacted by these unmanageable fire taxes.
