WHAT IF, What if: If budget is reduced: Over 1 million dollars needs to be cut from the budget in order to bring the GH fire tax rate in-line with the Town of Brookhaven average. If budget is increased : For every 100,000 dollars the budget increases, the fire tax rate increases by approx. 5 dollars. The fire tax is already just shy of $64.00. It won’t be long before we are paying more for our fire taxes than we do our school taxes
